Sequence before dates
The first assignment included a 33-task working programme. It used relative working days, beginning at Day 1, because an agreed start date and contractor commitments were not available. This made the sequence discussable without presenting a calendar as confirmed.
The supplier is part of the sequence
Bespoke furniture fabrication followed coordinated workshop drawings. Worktop templating followed cabinet installation. Worktop manufacture followed templating. These relationships matter more than the visual neatness of a Gantt chart: changing one can move the practical start of another.
Surface the assumptions
The scenario assumed an unoccupied apartment, a five-day week and plumbing, electrical and HVAC trades able to work in parallel. Lead times and drying periods were provisions. The resulting 131 working days were a scenario to review, not a contractor promise or a measured project outcome.
Make changes deliberate
Before a programme becomes operational, replace provisional durations with actual product requirements, supplier lead times, site restrictions and team availability. Keep the reason for each change. A useful AI colleague can prepare the structure; the project team must connect that structure to real commitments.
